About The Artist

Claudia Yusmila Garcia, a Cuban-born fine art illustrator, and painter, was raised in the vibrant heart of Miami. From a young age, Claudia gravitated towards the arts and embraced creative pursuits. As she matured, Claudia discovered her deep passion for art and a profound connection to the act of creation. She combines her love of mysticism and the occult & her deep fascination with the human mind to create thoughtful pieces that help others find themselves through self-love and healing.

Through her artistic practice, she seeks to unearth her true inner self and hopes to guide others on their own journey of self-discovery and creativity. Claudia endeavors to ignite inspiration and foster a profound introspection and self-discovery through her artwork. Embarking on this creative expedition, she eagerly anticipates the discoveries and encounters that await her.

Artist Statement

I wander through the depths of incoherent thought, searching for that which has yet to be given life. For the forgotten, the nearly departed and the untold. With each discovery realized onto paper, I in turn find a small piece of myself. With ink-streaked hands I use the human form to relate my own version of reality. One that speaks, unafraid to find what resides in the dark and bring it to light.

By combining my interest of the occult and curiosity of the mind, I seek to depict the vulnerability of the human condition. Whether it be sculpture, illustration, or surrealistic portraiture, I use a blend of realism and my knowledge of illustration to bring my fascination of society and nature to life. I feel an unstoppable need to embark on an artistic journey of self-discovery and understanding where I strive to console the inner turmoil that lies within.

What I Do

I am an illustrator looking to blend the lines between stylized illustration and & romanticized surrealism.

I am always exploring new mediums, styles & concepts, allowing myself room for “creative play”. Merging vibrant colors with stark blacks to depict the depth of human emotion and linking it with spirituality. I aim to depict the partition yet interconnectedness of the mind body & spirit.
